The American Heart Association’s (AHA) BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. The AHA’s BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

Mental Health First Aid
Pharmacists and pharmacy team members are more likely to need to respond to a mental health episode than to a situation requiring basic life support or CPR. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, therefore, could be considered more important than CPR training. MHFA teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

NCPA is an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. This program is eligible for up to 12 contact hours (1.2 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education. Participants need to attend and participate in the sessions, provide an attendance code and complete an activity evaluation to receive credit for the program — target audience: community pharmacists and community pharmacy technicians.
